We think any time is a great time to take a cruise. Still, 2020 is gearing up to be one of the best years for cruise lovers to date. For those who are not as easily convinced, we have put together this video of the 5 reasons why you should take a cruise in 2020.

Even if you have not cruised in the past, taking a cruise in 2020 is the perfect time for your maiden voyage. Starting in late 2019, through the end of this year, most major cruise lines will be launching new (or revitalized) ships that will offer some of the most innovative features at sea. Among these vessels is Norwegian Encore, Royal Caribbean’s Odyssey of the Seas, as well as two Princess Cruises' ships. Further, Carnival Cruise Line’s largest ship, Carnival Mardi Gras, will debut later in the year featuring the first ever rollercoaster at sea, not to mention the brand new cruise line, Virgin Voyages will also debut in 2020.

Along with these new ships, there are many new and exciting destinations to visit. Gone are the stale, typical cruise itineraries. Now, cruise ships literally sail across the globe. From destinations in the Caribbean and Bahamas, to the Artic Circle, Antarctica, Europe, South America, and beyond, there is virtually no destination that you can’t cruise to in 2020.

Perhaps, an even better reason to take a cruise in 2020 are the destinations you can only visit via cruise ship. Among them is Royal Caribbean’s newly updated Perfect Day at CocoCay, Norwegian Cruise Line’s Great Stirrup Cay, the brand new Ocean Cay Marine Reserve from MSC Cruises, and the Beach Club at Bimini from Virgin Voyages.

Of course, cruising also features some five star dining and world class entertainment. In 2020, you can test out the new Italian upscale restaurant, Onda by Scarpetta, on Norwegian Encore or the new French restaurant Bistro Sur La Mer on Princess Cruises. Other renowned chefs will be offering dining options at sea including Emeril Lagasse and Curtis Stone. There is even an animated dinner and a show experience on Celebrity Cruises, Le Petit Chef.

As for entertainment, you can marvel at the new Cirque du Soleil shows on MSC cruises, the Broadway style entertainment and signature productions found newer ships sailing from Royal Caribbean International and Norwegian Cruise Line, the dynamic entertainment venues offering additional shows and experiences, or the family friendly activities on Carnival Cruise Line.
